This Spring term we explore surah 61, Al-Saff - The Ranks.
A Medinan chapter comprised of 14 verses, many consider it was revealed in the third year of the hijra after the battle of Uhud. The topics encountered in Surah Al-Saff: believers are cautioned against breaking their promises and falling away from their religious duties, and are encouraged to be sincere in faith and be firm footed in the way of the Deen. The chapter admonishes those who cause harm to the Prophet, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him, and concludes in promising the sincere of faith and those who struggle, Divine help, and victory over their persecutors.
