COURSE DESCRIPTION:

We are pleased to commence our spring term with a study of Surah Fāṭir, beginning from verse 15. This pivotal verse captures the heart of the Surah’s message: a powerful reminder that humanity is utterly in need of Allah, while He is completely free of need and ever praised.

In this term, our intention is to undertake a detailed and inspiring exploration of Surah Fāṭir. As the 35th Surah of the Qur’an, revealed in Mecca prior to the Hijra and ranking as the 43rd revelation chronologically, it comprises 45 verses rich with meaning, guidance, and hope.

Our objective is to offer an in-depth exposition of the Surah’s central themes—examining their linguistic beauty, historical and situational context, and how they contribute to the overall harmony and coherence of the Surah. Along the way, we will also explore how these themes connect with other verses throughout the Qur’an, helping us see the Qur’an as a unified and integrated whole.
